Life Upon the Hill

Up here on the hill in Central New York we try to keep life simple, though sometimes life gets crazy! We were lucky to find this amazing little 1860's farm house with 10 acres (and a view) for sale back in 2008 and by 2009 we were here working our butts off.  When we bought this place we knew we had alot of work ahead of us, but with the endless possibilities and dreams of one day being compeletly self sufficent  keeps up going.
The property was one of those diamond in the ruff deals and little by little the diamond is revealed! These pictures are of our very first project on the hill, it tooks us a year and a half but when we were done we had a master bedroom that has become our sanctuary. We can proudly boast that all of the work done here was done be by my husband and I with no contractors involved!

My husband has proved to be a master of all trades repairing anything that breaks he is constantly making our property work for us with what we have around.

With my love of crafting, gardening baking and being thrifty and my husbands love of cooking and handy work we put everything we have into our hillbilly chic lifestyle.

On Hillbilly Chic we will be sharing a little bit of life on the hill with the world from simple cooking, thrifty decorating, animal raising and gardening tips.
